Bentley-Leek Professional

Bentley-Leek Professional has been created to establish a formal relationship with professional introducers such as solicitors and accountants.

A business relationship on a joint-venture basis will allow introducers to be remunerated in a compliant way to participate in dividends on both new business and renewals. The method by which this is conducted has been approved by professional bodies such as the Law Society and the ACCA.

Background

In view of the new depolarisation rules in the financial services industry we have formed Bentley-Leek Professional Ltd (BLP) to provide independent financial advice to clients of professional firms. The practice has been established as an Appointed Representative of Bentley-Leek Financial Management Ltd (BLFM). This means that BLP is fully authorised by the FSA to conduct all classes of business including activities covered by the Insurance Mediation Directive and higher level advice areas including pension transfer and opt out, long term care and mortgage advice.

BLFM will provide full compliance and training and competence support to BLP, providing a number of highly qualified professional financial advisers to advise clients of the practice. BLFM holds Professional Indemnity Insurance to the full Financial Services Authority (FSA) requirements and has a high level risk management and compliance ethos throughout its business.

By being part of BLP a practice will benefit from:

· Profit participation in respect of all classes of business

· Creation of a new income stream through dividend payments

· Creation of a capital value through ownership of shares within BLP

· A dedicated adviser working with the practice on an agreed basis

· A detailed Service Level and Management Agreement confirming the working practices and rights and responsibilities of both parties in relation to our regulatory regimes

· Regular management meetings to review the relationship and install new procedures and training as necessary

· Regular meetings between the introducer’s fee earners and the financial adviser to assist with the creation of referrals between the practices

· Installation of compliant procedures and simple referral systems to ensure no opportunities are missed and to assist in a firm’s own internal risk management

· Ongoing marketing support to develop regular communication between the introducer and its clients and create further client opportunities for both practices

Principal Documentation

The Memorandum and Articles of Association, Shareholders Agreement, and Service Level and Management Agreement are all available to view online with a synopsis of each and key elements of the Bentley-Leek Professional Limited proposition.

Please note before signing any of the documentation, a practice should ensure that it seeks its own, independent legal and taxation advice.
